HISTORY:

Dunrite is an independently owned business that has been servicing Thunder Bay and area since 1991. Our service area currently spans from Marathon to Dryden, Ontario. While many computer companies have come and gone since we opened, Dunrite has survived. The reason is simple; we offer consistent personalized service at reasonable prices.

Dunrite Services started in February 1991 as a sole proprietorship and became incorporated in 1998 with Leo Blekkenhorst, as sole shareholder. Dunrite operates as a value-added reseller of brand name computer products, with a focus on service.

OUR TEAM:

We know we are only as good as our people. We currently employ two full time technicians and one full time administrative/dispatch person. Our employees have more than 35 years combined experience in the computer industry. We are proud of the depth of knowledge our staff can offer, because that knowledge means you get the right solution….and that can save you time and money.

PRESIDENT
Leo Blekkenhorst
Mr. Blekkenhorst graduated in 1984 with a diploma in electronic engineering tech. From 1984 - 1987 Mr. Blekkenhorst was Service Manager at Allied Computers. He received factory training to provide Authorized Apple & Compaq warranty service. From 1987 - 1990 he was employed as Service Manager at Entre Computers. Entre provided computer sales and service for small to large business markets. At Entre, he received additional factory service training from IBM, Compaq, Hewlett Packard, and Okidata. Since 1991 Mr. Blekkenhorst has been the owner/manager of Dunrite Services. He has had ongoing service training in wide format printers and Hewlett Packard Design Jet plotters.

TECHNICIAN
Mark Gregoire
Mark joined our team in July 1999. Mark graduated in 1996 with a college diploma in computer programming & systems analyst. Prior to Dunrite, Mark was responsible for maintaining systems & networks in various companies as well as designing, creating and maintaining company websites. Mark has sole responsibility for maintaining two of our large corporate contracts.

DISPATCH/ADMINISTRATION
Angela Blekkenhorst
Angela joined Dunrite in January 1998. Her background in customer service & office skills was a welcome addition. She is currently responsible for office administration and call management/dispatch.

SERVICES & SPECIALTIES:

Our technicians have over 35 years of combined experience. This experience includes service training for Okidata, Lexmark, IBM, Compaq and Hewlett Packard. We are presently authorized for Okidata warranty repair. Dunrite Services provides a very wide range of computer related services such as; Hardware repairs to computers, laptops, printers (laser, dot matrix, bubble jet, and wide format), and other peripherals. We specialize in the repair of plotters & laser printers. Component level repair work has also been done on monitors, UPS’s, power supplies and various pieces of process control equipment Software support services supplied, range from installation and configuration to the troubleshooting of many types of programs. Specialized software and hardware are also being maintained for the restaurant and dental industry as well as software as used in the hotel, accounting and law office industry.

Extensive work for national 3rd party contractors is done for all types of computer hardware repair as well as the implementation and maintenance of networked systems using primarily Microsoft Windows and Novell. Other service work covers a very broad spectrum, including the installation and maintenance of bank interac equipment, server implementation/support and support for retail point-of-sale equipment. Work has also been performed on automated equipment such as drug dispensing hardware.

CLIENTELE:

Dunrite provides complete computer solutions for business & personal applications. Dunrite currently provides regular service for 100's of small to large businesses as well as carry in service work for walk-in clientele. A large amount of work is done for national service contractors providing services to customers such as Union Gas, WSIB, Montanas Cookhouse, CNR, Shell, Canadian Tire, Ontario Power Generation, TD Bank, government ministries/agencies, mining and forestry, and many other small to large businesses.

FACILITIES:

Dunrite Services presently owns and operates from a 2000+ square foot commercial facility, which includes storage for an extensive inventory of used parts and additional room for third party contractor inventory. We are centrally located in the city of Thunder Bay with easy access and ample free parking.

SALES:

Dunrite has been supplying its customers with quality hardware and software since 1991. We sell a wide range of products from brand name computers, laptops, printers, and monitors, specializing in Touch computers and Acer Laptops. We also sell consumables such as ribbons, ink cartridges, toner cartridges, and refurbished/lease-end computer equipment.
